I haven’t ever met you
When I haven’t thought you grand.
You’re just so goldarned purdy
And I know you’ll understand

That I love you mashed or roasted,
Boiled, baked or even fried,
Cooked into soup with dumplin’s —
There’s nothing I ain’t tried.

No matter what you’re wearin’
I think you’re quite a dream,
Whether topped with butter, bacon,
Gravy, chives or sour cream.

Gnocchi and some tater-tots,
Latke, hash or stew
Chips and fries or baked in pies,
Potatoes, I LOVE YOU!

NaPoWriMo
Day 7

Today’s prompt is to write a love poem . . . but the object of the poem should be inanimate. You can write a love poem to your favorite pen, the teddy bear you had as a child (and maybe still have), or anything else, so long as it’s not alive!
