About
Hello.
My name is Loreen.
I am a daughter of the Living God,
because God is gracious and loves me. (WOW!)
I am a member of the body of Christ.
I am a wife (of a birding enthusiast and weekend wildlife photographer)
and a mother (of some really special kids!).
I am a primary school teacher.
I love my “little learners” and I love our classroom!
I am a closet philosopher and poet.
I love music and stories —
stories (fiction or non) that embody truth.

Thanks! I enjoyed reading your blog! What a dedicated young person you are. It’s great to see someone pursue their passion!

Hi Loreen.
I am really enjoying your poetry for NaPoWriMo. It is especially inspiring to see how you incorporate God and encouraging messages into your poems and blogging. I have also taken up the NaPoWriMo challenge this month – a daunting but fun task! Cannot wait to see how you go about the rest of the themes in the challenge! π
Apr 08, 2013 @ 20:03:43
Thanks, Cristal! I really enjoy your blog — as it incorporates SO much — poetry, sharing life and good food. Then I noticed that you live in South Africa. π Me too!! I eagerly await your offerings in this NaPoWriMo exercise!
Apr 09, 2013 @ 08:33:05
Really? That is such good news – I have not come across many South Africans in the blogosphere yet (I am sure there are thousands, but I just haven’t stumbled across them). Your poems are very creative – and it is great that you are following the prompts each day too. It is exciting to see what they have in store for us each day π I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi, Cheryl!
Wow — you are quite prolific!
I am on Twitter, but don’t post much more than Instagram photos.
My life is mostly taken up with my work.
@LoreenMcDoodle
Love your haiku!

@poetatete just followed you! (it’s me)
Now that you’re “famous”, I encourage you to consider tweeting links to your #NaPoWriMo poems. That hashtag is huge on Twitter. π
Apr 08, 2013 @ 22:23:02
Thanks, Cheryl! I’ll try to “screw my courage to the sticking-place.” π
Apr 08, 2013 @ 22:48:30
I encourage you to do a search on Twitter with #NaPoWriMo then grab the “short-link” from your blog and post it with that hashtag. It takes only a few extra seconds. A whole bunch of people already know you because of your recent feature on napowrimo.net.

Some really lovely poems here.
Jan 18, 2015 @ 20:49:19
π Gee, thanks. I don’t really know what I am doing (technically speaking). I just sort of go with my heart. Good to meet you!
Jan 18, 2015 @ 23:08:28
I don’t know what I’m doing either, but I think writing from the heart is what touches people.

Wow, thanks Elaine! π I have also enjoyed reading your words! They are refreshing and encouraging (we need that in this age!).
Apr 24, 2015 @ 07:27:12
I would like to nominate you to participate in the five story five day photo challenge. Only if you can and wish to. Not an abligation.
Apr 24, 2015 @ 19:32:51
Thanks, Aletta! I would love to participate. Where do I read about it? How do I start? (And can I do it in May?) π
Apr 26, 2015 @ 08:26:39
Thanks, Lore! You can do it any time you like! βThe rules of Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo (It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph) and then nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge. Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command.β
Apr 26, 2015 @ 11:37:46
Thanks! Looks like fun! I’ll give it a try after the poetry month!
