Life —
keeps kicking me around,
pushing me down,
handling me pickles on a silver plate,
telling me:
“You’re always too late!”
But I can wait,
‘cuz like rubber
I just bounce back up,
filling this cup
drop by drop
till it’s all filled up.

It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse. (A Quadrille is a poem of 44 words – not including the title.) De is hosting today and she asked us to use the word bounce.

It’s the ability to “bounce back up” that matters! Well said.

😊 Thank you.

I like the phrase “pickles on a silver plate”.

This made me smile. We all need to hear that we can bounce back even when things look bleak. Nicely done.

Thank you. 😊 Not always easy.

Yessss. That’s it, just exactly. We have that ability, the resilience, in us. Always. Joy is a choice.
LOVE this:

Thanks for the prompt, De. While your 2018 word is “bounce” (I love it!), mine is “stand.”

This is wonderfully uplifting ☺️ Yes we all have it in ourselves to bounce back from despair and difficult situations ❤️

😊 Thanks!

You said “pickle,” and all I can think is “yummy.” I drink the juice straight out of the jar, so as far as I’m concerned, you’re livin’ large. 😉
Jan 16, 2018 @ 19:53:50
Oh my goodness! 😊 I love pickles, but the juice! 😳😊

Exactly why we need to be bouncy… it’s about survival actually

Indeed. 😊
